Music Monday: Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson might be one of America’s favorite new divas, but she definitely doesn’t act the part–and according to many critics, she doesn’t look it either.  At her Halloween concert, Kelly dressed up as Stewie (from Family Guy–see above) and the less-than-flattering costume didn’t exactly comfort critics. 

To prove that she’s secure about herself, Kelly performed a mash-up of her song Already Gone and Beyonce’s Halo (listen below).  The similar-sounding songs were both written by One Republic’s Ryan Tedder and Kelly, who thought Already Gone was an original piece, had a field day with Tedder this past summer.  When she heard Halo on the radio, she called Tedder and said, “I don’t understand. Why would you do that?”  Has Kelly proven that she’s confident about herself?  What do you think?
